The attorney representing a Quincy man charged in the death of an infant will be asking to hire an expert witness in the case.

In Adams County Circuit Court Wednesday, the attorney for 30 year old Travis Wiley said he would file a motion for funds to hire an expert to testify in Wiley’s defense.

Wiley is charged with three counts of first degree murder and one count of aggravated battery to a child.

Wiley is accused of shaking an infant last January 20th. The girl died two days later in St. Louis of shaken baby syndrome.

Wiley was arrested in June and pleaded not guilty to the charges in August.

Wiley has a status hearing scheduled for December 5th. He remains in the Adams County Jail on $5-million dollars bond.
