DeKalb Man Charged After a Quincy Girl is Burned

A northern Illinois man faces charges after a 2 year old girl was taken to a hospital for treatment of burns.
Quincy Police and Adams County Ambulance crews were called to the 1500 block of South Fifth at 11:20 Thursday morning. They found the victim suffering from burns to 25 percent of her body. The girl was taken to Blessing Hospital and transferred to a burn unit via helicopter. Following an investigation,  the person watching the child at the time of the incident was arrested. Police say 21 year old Marquis Lidell of DeKalb was taken to the Adams County Jail. Lidell was arrested on charges of aggravated battery to a child under 13 and aggravated domestic battery.
