Dave Chastain Rocks The Dock at Smoke on the River Friday Night

Well, it is Smoke on the River time, and with it comes great weather, fabulous BBQ, ice cold beverages and some fantastic blues music from Dave Chastain and his DC3 Band. Dave, originally from the South and now from the Peoria area, is well known in the Blues world and will entertain the crowd at The Dock Friday night from 7 to 11.

Dave's upbringing in music came from his church going days in the South. There would be traveling preachers who would stop at his father's church and one day this preacher from Texas came by and starting playing a guitar in church. Dave and his dad were there and within days Dave convinced his dad to buy him a guitar and the rest is history.

He's been in Quincy several times over the years and has made many friends here in his previous stops. The guy can play a mean guitar so don't be surprised if his fingers are bleeding by the end of the night.

Smoke on the River is free to attend but there will be a $5 cover charge for the band. It'll be the best 5 bucks you will spend all weekend. There will also be plenty of BBQ food and ice cold beverages to purchase as well.
