Missouri 18th District State Senator Brian Munzlinger believes in educating folks--and fellow legislators-- on the importance of agriculture.

Munzlinger serves as Chairman of the Senate Agriculture Committee. He recently took members of the House and Senate Ag Committees on a tour of the Missouri Department of Agriculture.  He says that some on the tour were surprised the Ag Department is involved in so many aspects of everyday life. "A lot of people didn't realize that they are the largest consumer protection agency that we have in this state."

State Senator Munzlinger runs a farm in Williamstown.  He says prayers for rain are welcome, as his farm along with much of the state is experiencing drought conditions.

His Senate District covers 14 counties in Northeast Missouri. The Missouri Legislature begins its veto override session next week.
