Court Appearance on Marijuana Charges

(BOWLING GREEN)-- A pre-trial hearing is today for a Louisiana man who allegedly showed a deputy his drug stash and three pot plants. 54-year old Timothy J. Schaefer is charged with producing a controlled substance and possession of marijuana. He also faces a charge of unlawful possession of a firearm.    A Pike County sheriff’s deputy reported in a probable cause statement that Schaefer showed him three growing marijuana plants, a stash of 242 grams of pot and a gun safe during a search of the suspect’s property on Oct. 22, 2010.    Schaefer allegedly told authorities he is a casual marijuana smoker and grows his own weed because he can’t afford street prices for the drug.
