A Monroe City man is sentenced after pleading guilty to kidnapping and child endangerment charges in Monroe County Circuit Court Tuesday.

37 year old Cornell Marks gets a total of ten years in the Missouri Department of Corrections on the charges, to be served concurrently with the seven year sentence he is already serving for possession of a controlled substance.

Marks is alleged to have been high on heroin when he forced a woman to drive him from Monroe City to his mother’s home in the St. Louis area, and then back to Monroe City on July 17th, 2016. The woman’s daughter was also in the car at the time of the incident.

Marks was taken into custody in St. Louis County and was originally jailed on probation violations.
