There are a number of contested races around area in Tuesday’s municipal election.

In Palmyra’s Fourth Ward city council race, Ken Sheputis faces Brock Fahy.

Howard Disselhorst, John Sublette and Doug Keim are vying for two seats on the Palmyra Fire Protection District Board.

The city of Palmyra has Proposition A on the ballot for a half cent sales tax to fund capital improvements, and the Palmyra School District has Proposition 2, a no-tax increase levy for various improvements to district facilities.

In Ralls County, there is a contest on the Ralls County R-2 school board, the 911 Emergency Services Board and for ward one alderman in Center. There’s also a proposition on the ballot in Center for revenue bonds for water and sewer system improvements.

In the city of Quincy, there are contested aldermanic races in wards three, six and seven.
