The rescheduled Color in Motion for Kids in Motion fun run/walk happens this Saturday, June 20 in Hannibal.

The event was weathered out in April, but the rescheduling has enabled organizers to better accommodate the tremendous response to take part in the race. Over 700 walkers and runners are expected to descend upon the Admiral Coontz Recreation Center for the fundraiser.

For those who have pre-registered, advance packet pickup can be done from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday. Registration Saturday starts at 8 a.m., with the race itself starting at 9.

The course for the 5k follows Warren Barrett Drive and extends onto some side streets and trails, where participants will be bombarded with colored chalk from volunteers.

Benefiting from the run is Kids in Motion, which is part of Douglass Community Services. KIM is a pre-employment/service-learning program for at-risk youth.
