After being closed for more than two months, the Admiral Coontz Recreation Center will reopen to the public next week.

The Rec Center has been closed since April 29th due to flooding on the Mississippi River and Bear Creek. But, with the river on its way down, the Hannibal Parks and Recreation Department has announced that the center will reopen at 7:30 a.m. Monday, July 8th.

There will still be some clean up going on, so not all equipment will be available, but the walking track and the Play without Boundaries Sensory Room will be open.

The Wednesday Senior Dances will return to the center on July 10th with a carry in dinner to celebrate.

The center will be on summer hours, Monday through Fridays from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
