Cause of Death Annouced For 921 North 11th Fire Victims

Quincy Police say smoke inhalation is the cause of death for a Quincy man and his two children who died as the result of a house fire. 

Lewis Bassett Sr. and LaDavian Bassett were pronounced dead shortly after arrival at Blessing Hospital following the August 9 fire at 921 North 11th. Lewis Bassett Jr. was flown to Children’s Hospital in St. Louis.

Police say they have a hard copy of Lewis Bassett Jr’s autopsy results and are awaiting hard copies of the other two autopsy results. Police say the investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
