The state of Illinois has begun the bidding process that will result in a new Illinois Veterans’ Home in Quincy.

Governor J.B. Pritzker announced Tuesday that the Illinois Capital Development Board has issued a request for proposals for teams to build a new facility.

The Illinois Veterans’ Home is the oldest and largest home of its kind in the state, currently housing 315 veterans.

The legislature passed a bipartisan Rebuild Illinois Capital plan that included $230 million dollars for the new home.

Anyone wanting to submit an application for the design build project can go to Illinois dot gov slash CDB.

The deadline to apply is December 11th.
