Canton R-5 Schools Closed Friday Due to COVID Concerns

There is no school in the Canton R-5 School District Friday due to COVID concerns.

In a Facebook post Thursday night, district officials said that, due to a confirmed coronavirus case in the grade 7 through 12 student body and a possible exposure to a symptomatic individual in their PreK through 6th grade building, the Canton schools are closed Friday.

Officials say they will use this time to do contact tracing and notify close contacts, along with disinfecting classrooms and common areas.

Canton R-5 families will be notified over the weekend how learning will take place next week.
