Friday:

ST. LOUIS (AP) - The St. Louis Cardinals have rebounded from a cold spell behind seven strong innings from Jake Westbrook. Allen Craig had two RBIs and Matt Holliday had two doubles in the 4-1 win over the Miami Marlins. St. Louis came in having lost eight of 11 games.

Cards and Marlins play Saturday and Sunday at 1:15. You can catch the action on Newstalk 1070 KHMO.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - Tommy Milone couldn't quite complete the shutout, but for eight innings he dominated the red-hot bats of the Kansas City Royals. The Oakland A's pitcher carried a shutout into the ninth in the 6-3 victory. Alcides Escobar and Eric Hosmer and Billy Butler had RBIs in the ninth for all of the Kansas City scoring.

CHICAGO (AP) - The Chicago Cubs were little match for baseball's best team, particularly with dominating stuff from Francisco Liriano. Liriano's first complete game in more than two years allowed the Pittsburgh Pirates to continue to roll in their 6-2 victory at Wrigley Field. Starling Marte had three hits and stole two bases.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) - The Tampa Bay Rays have gotten five runs in the second - including a two-run homer from Jose Molina - to defeat the Chicago White Sox. Jeremy Hellickson won his fourth in a row in the 8-3 victory. It was Molina's second homer of the season.
