(Update 1 PM) The vets home grounds has been cleared and no suspects were located.  Residents should feel comfortable going back home but should remain cautious as the suspects are still at large. We are looking for two males 18-22 yoa, one white male, uncertain race on the second male. The known white male had very short hair the second had dark curly hair. We believe they are in possession of a handgun and should be considered armed and dangerous.

[Original story] On 7/21/14 at 10:03 am Quincy police officers responded to a robbery call in the area of 9th and Locust. Police officers currently have a wooded area contained at the Illinois Veteran's Home. Police are looking for two male subjects who may be armed with firearms. We ask that citizens stay away from the area until the premises have been cleared. Also those who live in the area should use caution until the scene has been clear. If they remain at home we recommend that they go inside with their doors locked. We ask that citizens call the police if they see anyone suspicious and not attempt contact. We'll put a notice out after we clear the area.
