The postponements and cancellations of area events in light of the coronavirus outbreak continues to grow.

The Hannibal Area Chamber of Commerce has announced that two of their regular spring events, the Job Fair on March 19th and the Business Expo March 26th, have been postponed until further notice.
The chamber also announced a decision will be made in the next couple of weeks on the annual Senior Expo, scheduled for April 16th.

The Quincy Community Theater has postponed its production of “Chicago.” It had been scheduled to run March 19th through the 22nd and March 27th through the 29th.

Culver-Stockton College had announced Thursday they are extending their spring break through March 20th, with classes to resume March 23rd via online learning. Residential students have the option of returning to campus or staying home.

The Play Without Boundaries Sensory Room in the Admiral Coontz Recreation Center in Hannibal has been closed temporarily. Parks and Recreation officials cite difficulty in keeping the equipment clean as the reason for the closing until further notice.

The Oakley Lindsay Center in Quincy reports that all event at the center that had been expected to draw 250 people or more have been postponed or cancelled until May 1st.

The Y-101 St. Patrick’s Day parade scheduled for Saturday in Quincy has been cancelled.

The Quincy Public Schools Showcase of Excellence scheduled for Saturday has been postponed.

Hannibal-LaGrange University will move its classes online next week.

John Wood Community College has suspended in person classes at all its locations through next week.

The Harlem Globetrotters have suspended their current U.S. tour, including the March 18th appearance at Pepsi Arena in Quincy.
