Ameren officials said Tuesday crews have started to replace a mile-and-a-quarter of pipeline and nearly 70 individual customers’ natural gas services along Broadway and Highway 104 in Quincy.

Ameren says crews will spend the spring and summer replacing 70s era pipeline and natural gas services with modern, corrosion resistant polyethylene material.

Officials said the work will involve brief interruption of individual service and Ameren personnel will relight natural gas appliances for any customer who requests it.
