A Look Back from 2011 at Avenue of Lights in Quincy
I love that the Festival of Lights is back each year, but do you remember the Avenue of Lights?
One of my family's favorite things to do is driving around town looking at Christmas lights and decorations. I am sure many of you do the same, but one of the area's biggest light shows that started it all was the Avenue of Lights.
Avenue of Lights officially went dark in 2015. No real reason was given why, it could've been money, time to set up the displays, lack of people to run the gate. Whatever the reasons, it was truly missed in Quincy. However, several individuals decided to bring it back three years ago and have brought a chance to start new memories for families.
If you ever wanted to know what the Avenue of Lights looked like I went deep diving on the internet and found a video from 2011. This one I have below seems to show the whole display. I remember the tunnel of lights, the elevator Santa, and the princess castle.
Festival of Lights keeps adding new displays each year they are back, and this year I have to say is one of their best so far. You can see how much this organization loves bringing back the holiday lights each holiday season. The Festival of Lights costs $15 a car and is open now through New Years Day from 5 pm to 9 pm.
