(Quincy, Ill)—Quincy Police report 95 percent of vendors checked for Tobacco Compliance last Friday passed the test.

Officers conducted checks of 20 businesses with assistance from a 16 year-old volunteer.

Police report one violation occurred when an employee of Walgreens on Broadway sold cigarettes to the underage agent.  The employee was arrested and released on a notice to appear.

Officers say tobacco checks will continue with the goal of 100% compliance in the community.
