The drive is on to help hundreds of students in the Hannibal school district with supplies for the upcoming school year.

In a press release from Douglass Community Services, Executive Director Stephanie Cooper says her agency has joined with NECAC, FACT and other community groups in the 2016 school supply drive.

There are some 428 students in the Hannibal district seeking assistance.
Supplies needed include notebook paper, glue, pens and pencils, scissors, crayons, markers, colored pencils and plastic art boxes.

Those wanting to contribute can leave donations in drop boxes at the Dollar General and Big Lots stores in Hannibal, or can drop them by Douglass Community Services at 711 Grand Avenue.

The school supply drive continues through the first week in August.
