A 16-year-old girl from northern Illinois has earned her master's degree and is starting doctoral studies.

The (Arlington Heights) Daily Herald reports that Thessalonika Arzu-Embry earned the degree in strategic foresight and organizational leadership through the online program at Regent University in Virginia. Now she wants to do her doctoral work in aviation psychology.

Arzu-Embry lives with her family in housing at Great Lakes Naval Station near North Chicago. She graduated high school at age 11. She earned her undergraduate studying at the College of Lake County, Chicago State University and Thomas Edison State College in New Jersey.

Arzu-Embry also spends her time swimming, playing tennis and participating in activities at her church.
