When you think of movie hotspots for filming locations, Paris, Missouri unfortunately does not come to mind. However, a new movie short was just shot there in its entirety and I have the official trailer to prove it.
The movie is called "Honeymoon Missouri". Here's the synopsis form IMDb:
A lone traveler's night at a remote hotel spirals into madness when she's given a suite reserved by another customer.
According to a post on the Missouri sub-Reddit by director Joe Eckstein, this movie short was just accepted for the New York Indie Shorts Awards. NOTE: there is a tiny bit of NSFW language in this one.
According to the status on the Missouri sub-Reddit, the movie creator grew up in Missouri which led him to decide to shoot this in Paris, Missouri.
IMDb shows the main actors are George Hovis, Cassie Ferrick, Coleen Tutton, Shawn McAninch and David Crespy. It will be interesting to see how much traction this movie short gets as it makes the rounds. It looks like it's very well done and the fact that it's being accepted into prestigious awards is a good sign that just maybe this Paris, Missouri movie will be a success.
