Why would a man want to launch an anvil 200 feet into the sky? If you're one Missouri man, you do it because you can and why not?

I owe this special moment in the Show Me State to the Missouri sub-Reddit page who shared a throwback to the summer of 2009 when a Farmington, Missouri man gained fame by launching an anvil high enough that Wile E. Coyote would be so very proud.

This man is Gay Wilkinson and he should be admired for the genius he is. True male brilliance at work here and I mean it.

My favorite part of this video other than the impressive anvil flight itself is why Gay said he did it and how women respond to him and his anvil launching.

Gay Wilkinson - "Why would we want to do that? I get that a lot from women. Women say why would you want to do that. I don't know other than it's neat to launch something that really wasn't intended to be launched...men pretty much think that was pretty cool".

That is so true, Gay. So true. What do we Missouri men do when something was NOT designed to be launched? We fire it into the sky. That's what we do.

This fun Missouri video throwback is another reminder (to ladies) about what happens when they leave males alone to make decisions for themselves. Sometimes incredible things happen. And sometimes we launch anvils into the sky.
