A national sandwich shop chain is the latest victim of a data breach, and a couple of area outlets are among the stores affected.

Jimmy John’s learned in July of a possible security incident involving credit and debit cards. They believe an intruder stole login credentials to remotely access cash register systems.

It appears that 216 Jimmy John’s locations may have been affected, including the outlets in Quincy and Kirksville.

Cards that were impacted appear to have been those swiped at the stores and does not include cards entered online.

Jimmy John’s is offering free credit monitoring and other services for those who may have been victims of the breach.
