We may be months away from the holiday season, but that's not stopping Toys for Tots from kicking off their fundraising for the year.

The inaugural Toys for Tots kickoff event is coming up on April 30 at The Venue (124 N. 5th, Quincy) at 4:30 pm. This is not only a kickoff event but at the event, there will be a special recognition of the original Marine Corps Veterans and their spouses who founded Toys for Tots in Quincy, Illinois. This is the 75th year for the Toys for Tots organization.

There will be a dinner, silent and live auction, live music from Memphis Mafia, and a special presentation of the history of Toys for Tots Quincy, Illinois honoring the founders of the local chapter. Tickets for the April 30th event are $25 each or you can reserve a table of 8 in advance for $175. You can purchase tickets at Kustom Kuts, online through the Toys for Tots Facebook page, by emailing quincyiltoysfortots@gmail.com, or at the door the night of the event.

Toys for Tots provides toys to children in Adams, Brown, and Hancock County and delivered 13,901 toys in total to 1,864 kids (402 families) with some donations also going to various organizations that Toys for Tots works with.
