MOUNT VERNON, Mo. (AP) - Agriculture officials are reporting an abundance of ticks this spring in southwest Missouri. University of Missouri Extension livestock specialist Eldon Cole says the insects are being found in large numbers on pets, livestock and humans. He attributes the large numbers to the unusually mild winter.
