Three Arrested on Weapons, Meth Charges Sunday
A shots fired report results in four arrests on weapons and meth charges late Sunday night.
Quincy Police responded to a report of shots fired in the area of 3rd and Spruce about 10:20 p.m. Sunday.
Officers found 18 spent shell casings along 3rd Street from Spruce to Sycamore and were told by witnesses that people in a suspect vehicle had been shooting at another vehicle and had fled the scene.
The investigation led officers to a residence in the 1300 block of North 12th about 11 p.m.
The execution of a search warrant at the residence revealed four handguns, one of which had been reported stolen.
Taken into custody were 43 year old Henry Blackwell and 36 year old Tynell Washington, both of Quincy, 24 year old Tywone Mitchell of Champaign and a 17 year old juvenile.
Blackwell, Washington and Mitchell were taken to the Adams County Jail, charged with possession of a firearm by a street gang member, possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of methamphetamine.
Washington was also charged with being an armed habitual criminal.
The juvenile was taken to the Adams County Illinois Youth Detention Center.
