Three Apply for Vacant Hannibal City Council Seat

Three residents of Hannibal’s Third Ward have expressed interest in a vacant city council seat.

The deadline to submit a letter of interest to the City Clerk passed Tuesday morning, and according to clerk Angel Vance, Darwin Patterson, Melissa Cogdal and Ryan Roberts all expressed interest in the city council seat formerly held by Kevin Lionberger.

Lionberger resigned from the council in August, announcing he was moving from the third ward.

Following a verification process, the city council will consider possible replacements for Lionberger October 18th.

The new third ward councilman would serve until the next Municipal Election in April of 2017.
