The Massive Disrespect given to this Chicago Stadium is Crazy
The MLB season is now over with Atlanta winning it all, but one website has shown insane disrespect to a great stadium in the city of Chicago.
Let me start this by saying I haven't been to every baseball stadium in person in the MLB, it would be pretty awesome to be able to accomplish that, and I am the type of person that always finds something to get mad at on a list, and this list made me mad. Fansided.com released a list ranking every MLB stadium from worst to best, and they got a lot right on this list, for example, Wrigley Field is number one on the list, and that is the correct ranking (yes I am a lifelong Cubs fan). They also have the St. Louis Cardinals' Busch Stadium ranked at number four, behind Fenway at two, and Yankee Stadium (overrated) at number 3. But those are all fairly appropriate rankings, this leads me to the ranking for Guaranteed Rate Field the home of the Chicago White Sox ranked a measly 26th out of 30, ranked just ahead of the absolutely awful stadiums in baseball like Marlins Park, Rogers Center in Toronto, and Tropicana Field. The Rate (as I call it) deserves a lot better, here is what they say on the website...
"There is no disincentive nature to this stadium compared to its Northside rival, the Cubs. Guaranteed Rate Field feels like a cookie-cutter stadium that a corporation would build, which still makes it somewhat unpleasant to watch a baseball game here. And please, don’t get me started on the name, which has to be one of, if not these worse names for a stadium ever."
This just isn't fair. You CANT compare anything to Wrigley especially something built in the 90's and then renovated in the early 2000's. The Rate isn't special no but it is a fun ballpark that has a bunch of great seats, it is easy to get to on the Red Line, the stadium experience is much cleaner than a lot of stadiums I have been to, and the food at The Rate is phenomenal. The Rate doesn't deserve to be in the top 10, probably not the top 15 either BUT it is wayyyyy closer to the top 15 than it is to the bottom four stadiums in the MLB despite the stupid name.
