Super Wild Card Weekend Matchups Set, Chiefs Play Sunday Night
Will the Chiefs make their third consecutive trip to the Super Bowl? Will the ageless Tom Brady get yet another Super Bowl ring? Will Mahomes send Big Ben off into the sunset?
These are just a very few of the questions that will begin to be answered this weekend as the NFL playoffs begin.
With the conclusion of week 18 Sunday night, the league released details on the seedings and pairings for the Super Wild Card Weekend, which will run Saturday through Monday, January 15-17.
The number one seeds, the Titans in the AFC and the Packers in the NFC, get a first round bye.
Saturday's games include AFC matchups, with four-seed Cincinnati hosting five-seed Las Vegas on NBC at 3:30 p.m. Central, and six-seed New England at three-seed Buffalo on CBS at 7:15 p.m. Central.
There will be three games Sunday, beginning with a couple of NFC matchups. Two-seed Tampa Bay hosts seven-seed Philadelphia at Noon Central on FOX. At 3:30 Central on CBS, number-three Dallas is home, facing six-seed San Francisco.
The Chiefs begin pursuit of their third straight trip to The Big Game, as two-seed Kansas City hosts seven-seed Pittsburgh, in what may be Ben Rothlisberger's last game, at 7:15 p.m. Central on NBC. If you'd rather listen to the game, you can hear it on KICK-FM.
The Wild Card Weekend wraps up with the NFC contest between five-seed Arizona at four-seed Los Angeles at 7:15 p.m. Central on ESPN.
