The numbers are in for the opening weekend of the November portion of the Missouri firearm deer season.

The Department of Conservation reports that 96,131 deer were harvested last weekend, compared to 93,896 deer bagged on the opening weekend of the 2015 deer season.

The leading county for deer harvest was Franklin with 2,041, followed by Howell County with 1,950 and Texas County with 1,939 deer harvested.

Leading the way in northeast Missouri were Pike County with 1,435, followed closely by Macon County with 1,431.

The November portion of the firearm season runs through the 22nd, with the anterless portion of the firearm season running December 2nd through the 4th.
