St. Louis County Lifts Alert After Woman, Child Found Safe

St. Louis County police say an Amber Alert was lifted after a woman and her 1-year-old son were found safe, and the woman told authorities she left town on her own.

Police on Thursday were looking for 23-year-old Diana Berrios-Pimentel and her 1-year-old son, who were reported missing by a relative concerned they had been abducted.

Police say Berrios-Pimentel and the child were found safe later Thursday at a truck stop near Nashville, Tennessee, where she told authorities she left on her own with her child and the text messages she sent to the relative indicating she had been abducted were a ruse.

Police say no charges are likely.
