Six-Year-Old Hurt in Macon Hit-and-Run
Macon Police have released more details on an apparent hit-and-run incident just before 5:30 p.m. Monday.
According to Macon Police, a six-year-old girl ran into traffic as she tried to cross Highway 63 at its intersection with Elm Street in Macon.
An investigation indicates that the girl was struck by a tractor trailer, but that the driver was unaware he had struck the girl.
The driver was pulled over later in Randolph County.
KTVO-TV in Kirksville identifies the girl as Jaddin Knouse of Macon. She was taken first to University Hospital in Columbia, then was transferred to St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
As of late Tuesday morning, Jaddin Knouse was reported in fair and stable condition.
The investigation into the incident continues by Macon Police, the Macon County Sheriff’s Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
