Quincy University Hosting National Guard Flood Fighters

Quincy University has rolled out the red carpet for hundreds of flood fighters.

QU is hosting some 225 Illinois National Guardsmen that have been deployed to the area to help area residents fight the flood of 2019 in Quincy and the surrounding area.

Soldiers began arriving Friday. During their stay at Quincy University, they will live in Willer and the Student Living Center dorms and will use the QU parking lots to house staging equipment and trucks.

University officials call it an honor to provide a base camp for the National Guard and support their efforts as they provide service to the community.
