Quincy University Gets $300,000 Gift From Springfield Diocese
The financial recovery fundraising campaign of Quincy University gets another boost.
In a press release, QU officials announce a $300,000 investment in the school from the Diocese of Springfield in Illinois.
The gift is payable over the next five years and comes from an endowment established with the Foundation for the People of the Roman Catholic Diocese in Springfield.
This money comes on the heels of a similar gift from Franciscan Friars Sacred Heart Province, the organization that founded Quincy University in 1860.
Last November, QU started a campaign to raise $7-million dollars over the next five years. These gifts get Quincy University to about 60 percent of its goal.
