Quincy Salvation Army Exceeds Tree of Lights Fundraising Goal
Just as Hannibal did last week, the Quincy Salvation Army celebrates a successful 2018 Christmas fundraising campaign.
Campaign chairs Jeff and Theresa Spear, along with Will and Kristin Spear, announced Thursday that last year’s Tree of Lights campaign raised over $409,000. The goal for the 2018 campaign was $405,000.
The Tree of Lights campaign is the Salvation Army’s major fundraising effort each year. Money raised goes toward Christmas assistance along with programs and services for individuals and families in Adams, Brown and Pike counties in Illinois.
During the holiday season, 650 Christmas food boxes were distributed to families in the Quincy service area, and 670 children got over 6,300 toys from Toy Town.
Last week, the Hannibal Salvation Army announced they also exceeded their Tree of Lights fundraising goal.
