As we begin the month of April, this would normally be garage sale season. But this is not a normal April.

Quincy Police say that, while it is understandable that people who are spending more time at home than usual would spend some of that time cleaning out their homes, this is not the time to be holding garage or estate sales.

Under Governor Pritzker’s Executive Order, having a garage sale is not an essential activity. QPD says non-compliance of this order can result in the issuing of citations.

Quincy Police says it is not their goal to write tickets, but to encourage voluntary compliance.
