Naked Man Wielding Samurai Sword Tasered by Quincy Police

Officers of the Quincy Police Department were called to the 300 block of South 10th Street around 10:30 the morning of May 8 on a report of a mentally disturbed naked individual in the yard of a residence.

According to QPD, the man retreated inside his residence upon the arrival of a police officer. The man reportedly emerged from the residence with a samurai sword and began swinging it at bystanders. The officer used a taser to subdue the subject, who was then taken to Blessing Hospital for treatment.

No bystanders were injured in the incident. The individual has not been named by police.
