Quincy Police were called to the Microtel Inn on South 3rd Street about 5:30 a.m. Saturday in connection with a stabbing incident.

By the time officers arrived, the apparent stabbing victim, 37 year old Nathan Anderson of Red Wing, Minnesota, had been taken to the Blessing Hospital Emergency Room by private vehicle.

The initial investigation revealed that Anderson had suffered multiple lacerations and puncture wounds during an altercation with another man in the 200 block of South 3rd.

The stabbing did not appear to be a random act. Officers believe Anderson and the man were acquaintances.

At the time he was admitted to Blessing, Anderson’s wounds were believed to be serious but not life threatening.

The investigation into the incident continues.
