There has been a “phishing" scam reported in our area. Several residents have received a text message or phone call from Marine Bank stating that either their credit or debit card has been deactivated. If the contact was made by text or phone, there is a number you are to call to rectify this problem.

Do not call this number or give any personal information over the phone. Most banks do not communicate with their customers through texting and if you have an account with a bank, they already have personal information, such as a social security and account numbers.
