The Quincy Police Department took part in the annual Click it or Ticket high-visibility seat belt enforcement campaign from May 15th through the 30th.

Deputy Chief Doug VanderMaiden reports that 64 citations for seat belt violations were written during the campaign.

VanderMaiden says Illinois’ seat belt use rate is 93 percent, which is down from 95.2 percent in 2015. The Click it or Ticket campaign aims to change the behavior of those who still don’t buckle up.
