A two month investigation leads to the arrest of a Quincy man on a variety of sex, drugs and weapons charges.

Quincy Police, in conjunction with the Illinois Attorney General’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Division, received a tip of an inappropriate sexual relationship between 30 year old Michael Abbey and a 16 year old Quincy female.

Then, last Thursday, a search of Abbey’s residence by detectives revealed several electronic items, quantities of substances believed to be ecstasy and cannabis. Also discovered were digital scales, drug paraphernalia and cash, along with a firearm and ammunition.

Abbey’s car was also seized.

Abbey made an initial court appearance Monday. He was charged with three counts of child pornography and one count each of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, possession with intent to deliver ecstasy and cannabis and possession of a firearm by a felon.
Abbey is also on probation for domestic battery.

Bond was set at $200,000. Abbey is lodged in the Adams County Jail.
