If you’ve been missing the weekend ritual of garage saleing, there’s good news for you.

Quincy Police report that garage sales and yard sales will be allowed in the city beginning Friday under Phase 3 of the Restore Illinois Plan.

But, police also say that anyone hosting a sale needs to follow the Illinois Department of Public Health’s safety guidelines.

When you have a yard or garage sale, you should maintain social distancing, or wear a face covering. You should clean and disinfect surfaces touched by multiple people every two hours.

And, any sale held in a yard, driveway or residential garage is subject to a restriction of only five people per thousand square feet.
