(QUINCY)—Adams County Coroner Jim Keller identifies the body found at the scene of a Quincy fire as 48-year-old Nancy Streitmatter. Her body was found Monday during an investigation into a fire at Salvage Lumber 219 Oak Sunday evening.

A release from the coroner’s office says cause and manner of death are pending final toxicology and examination results. Those results won’t be available for several weeks.

Investigators identified Streitmatter through dental and medical records. Evidence from the fire scene is being evaluated by the Illinois State Crime Lab.

Due to circumstances surrounding the death, Quincy Police are treating the incident as a homicide at this time.
