The council approved the purchase of 700 tons of salt to use to keep the streets clear.

While crews have been busy clearing the streets as a result of the last week’s snow and bitter cold, and salt supplies have been depleted, they still have 3,500 tons of salt on hand.

The council also approved $50,000 for businesses that did not receive the full amount of grant money through the local CURE’s Economic Support Payments Grant Program.
