Pike County Pedestrian Fatality

(PITTSFIELD)—A Jerseyville man is dead following a pedestrian accident along a Pike County road south of Pittsfield early Saturday morning. Illinois State Police say 32 year old Rick Swarringim was walking along County Highway 11 when he was hit by a pickup truck at 5:28 a-m. Pike County deputies believe Swarringim was walking to Pittsfield after his car went off the road earlier in the morning. The incident remains under investigation by the Pike County Coroner’s office. An autopsy is scheduled in Wood River on Monday.
