Your ticket to Neverland awaits you! The Box Office is now open for Quincy Community Theatre’s creative Family/Student Theatre adaptation of 'Peter Pan,' June 13-16.

“All children grow up…except one.” Peter Pan and Neverland come to life in this intimate and imaginative retelling of J.M. Barrie’s beloved story about the boy who never grew up. Performed in QCT’s small Laboratory Theatre, the setting for this innovative production is an old attic, which through the imagination of a small group of children (and the audience), transforms into the mystical island of Neverland. All of the characters that you know and love (or love to hate) are brought to life by only eight actors. This unique theatrical event is sure to be an “awfully big adventure!”

“Generations have fallen in love with this classic story and most audiences know it through the famous musical starring Mary Martin. This is not that version,” said Director of Student Theatre Brandon Thomsen. “We’re excited to go back to J.M. Barrie’s original play, including dialogue that hasn’t been heard since 1904. There will be no literal flying with actors hinging on wires, but we think our audiences will be thrilled with how we still tell this classic tale.”

This inventive twist on Barrie’s cherished play is under the direction of Director of Student Theatre Brandon Thomsen, with scenic and lighting design by Assistant Technical Director Seth Campbell and costumes by resident designer Anna Grywalski. Sharon Tieken serves as the stage manager and Shelby Rees serves as the Assistant Stage Manager.

Tickets are $9, on sale May 20. Seating is extremely limited. For tickets or more information, visit 1qct.org or call the QCT Box Office, located in the Oakley-Lindsay Center, at 217.222.3209.
