The Hannibal Public School's Parents as Teachers program picks Hannibal Regional Hospital's Chris Coons Women's Care Center as its 2014-15 Community Partner of the Year.

PAT bestows the honor to organizations who support the Parents as Teachers' vision, "All children will learn, grow and develop to realize their full potential."

The Hannibal Parents as Teachers and HRH Women's Care Center have worked together for several years to build a community-based partnership.

According to Women's Care Center Director Linda Dinges, "I believe the collaboration between Hannibal Regional Women's Care Center and Parents as Teachers has been very rewarding for all of us because we are committed to building stronger families in our region. Children all deserve to be successful and happy in the future."

The partnership has resulted in improving women's prenatal and postnatal care, increasing parenting knowledge with childbirth education and breastfeeding, and building on family knowledge in the areas of child development and community resources.
