Unemployment is up in Northeast Missouri.

State figures show the unemployment rate for July jumped significantly in several counties and rose in most others.

Ralls County saw an increase from 5.7 percent in June to 9.1 percent in July…the highest since February of 2011.

Unemployment also rose in Audrain, Knox, Lewis, Lincoln, Macon, Monroe, Montgomery, Pike, Scotland and Shelby counties.

Marion County recorded a slight decrease, but the jobless rate in the city of Hannibal rose a full percentage point to its highest level since March. Clark County’s rate was unchanged.
