Monroe Pleads Guilty to Reduced Charge in Overdose Death
A Quincy man pleads guilty to a lesser charge in connection with the overdose death of another Quincy man.
As part of a plea agreement, 37 year old Wardell Monroe, Jr. pleaded guilty to one count of delivery of a controlled substance.
Monroe was set to go to trial next month on one count of drug induced homicide. That charge was dropped in exchange for the guilty plea.
Monroe had been accused to delivering heroin to 20 year old Michael Rupert III on July 8th, 2015. Rupert died from an overdose two days later.
