If you've been watching sunsets in Missouri the past couple days, you've likely noticed there's suddenly a hazy orange tint to it all. There's a reason for the quick change in how our skies appear.

The National Weather Service in Springfield, Missouri shared this interesting graphic showing what's going on.

The National Weather Service in St. Louis also mentioned the suddenly orange-y sky.

The short answer is wildfires. Yes, there are wildfires out west that have smoke that are affecting our view of the sun, but there are also some Missouri wildfires also. There's a 139 acre bunker fire burning 17.7 miles southeast of Salem, Missouri that is now contained. But, it's the dozens of wildfires in the western states whose smoke has made its way across the country and now affecting Missouri skies.

The good news is that there is big precipitation expected to clear things out near the end of the week when Missouri is expected to be impacted by the remnants of Hurricane Francine.

If you don't enjoy the weather in Missouri, wait 10 minutes and it will almost certainly change and that includes the suddenly orange hazy evening skies.
